The Southeast Center for Photography’s photo competition celebrates the fundamental role of light in creating compelling images. Recognizing that photography, at its core, is about capturing light, this call encourages photographers to showcase their mastery of illumination. However, it also acknowledges the equally powerful contribution of shadow, emphasizing the dynamic interplay between light and darkness as essential elements of a successful photograph. We invite you to submit your finest work that demonstrates a keen understanding and artistic use of light, in all its forms and interactions with shadow, to shape mood, define form, and ultimately, tell your visual story.

  • Specific Usage: Detailed information regarding where the images will be used for the promotion of the competition, this should include websites, social media, partners website, media outlets, books & calendars etc.
  • Moral Rights: Photographers should be credited whenever their images are used. This includes publication and Media not owned by the organiser. Editing and manipulation of the images should be kept to a minimum.
