UPCOMING COMPETITIONS:

  • PORTRAITS – September 2025Life Framer’s “A Portrait” competition is a global call for photographers to submit work that captures the complex and profound nature of portraiture. Inspired by a quote from Charles Baudelaire, the contest seeks images that offer a glimpse into another life and form a connection across distance, culture, and age.The competition welcomes all types of photographers and cameras, inviting submissions of studio portraiture, candid street shots, self-portraits, as well as conceptual and fine art photography. The goal is to find faces—whether individuals or groups, iconic or unknown—that celebrate diversity, creativity, honesty, and self-expression.
  • BLACK & WHITE – October 2025 For October, Life Framer is celebrating photography in its purest form with a competition dedicated exclusively to black and white images. The contest invites photographers to submit work that strips away distraction, allowing the viewer to focus on form, contrast, light, and emotion.Open to all genres—including street scenes, portraits, landscapes, and documentary—the competition welcomes both film and digital submissions, whether they are new works or from an existing archive. Judging Process

Within 3 days of each competition end, Life Framer’s editors will screen entries and submit selected entries to the judge for his or her review. The judge will then select the shortlist and 1st, 2nd Prize entries based on the photographic skill, artistic sensibilities, emotion, impact and originality. The decisions of the judge are final.

In the event that a judge has to withdraw their involvement for any unforeseen reason, Life Framer reserves the right to find an alternative judge. All entrants will be notified.

Images submitted will be treated completely anonymously throughout the whole process to ensure total fairness. The judge will have sole discretion of his or her selection and attempting to contact any judge directly in order to influence them will result in disqualification of the Entrant.

Life Framer aims to announce the shortlist and winners for each contest within fourteen days of the submission close date. The winners and shortlisted photographers will be notified by email and published on the Life Framer website and associated social media. The 1st Prize Entrant will have 90 days from the email date to claim their cash prize (they will be notified of their prize and any further instructions in the email). Failing to do so will result in loss of the prize. Winners are accountable for costs associated with the award acceptance, such as any applicable federal, state, provincial and local taxes.

Key Principles of Fair Usage.

  • Specific Usage: Detailed information regarding where the images will be used for the promotion of the competition, this should include websites, social media, partners website, media outlets, books & calendars etc.
  • Moral Rights: Photographers should be credited whenever their images are used. This includes publication and Media not owned by the organiser. Editing and manipulation of the images should be kept to a minimum.
  • License Duration: The usage license should be limited in time with a maximum of 5 years, but ideally less.
