Competition Details

The Motif Collective’s Portrait Photography Competition centers on the enduring art of “The Portrait.” From fleeting captures of faces and silhouettes encountered in everyday life to meticulously crafted studio compositions, the portrait has consistently held a central position within photography. Since the medium’s inception, the camera has often turned towards the faces and spirit of people of all ages. We invite you to share your most compelling portrait visions, showcasing your unique perspective on capturing the human form and essence.

Submissions will be evaluated based on their creativity, the quality of their execution, and the distinctiveness of the artistic vision presented. The range of acceptable styles spans from realistic depictions to more abstract interpretations. The top three photographers will be recognized with cash awards, with prizes reaching up to $10,000

Submission Rules:

- Image Files must be in JPG format.
- Files may not exceed 1MB and should be approximately 1200×900 in jpg format only.
- No watermarks of any kind can be placed on the submissions.
- Images must have been created using photographs taken by the entrant. AI images or parts of them worked into a photograph are not allowed.
- Please retain your original digital file as it may be required to prove authenticity.
- An image that won a Cash Award in a previous Motif Collective competition is not eligible for another Cash Award.

Prize & Judging Details

Cash Awards up to $10,000 to the Top Three Photographers.

1st Place – Receives 25% of all entry fees in the Theme
2nd Place – Receives 15% of all entry fees in the Theme
3rd Place – Receives 10% of all entry fees in the Theme

First Place also receives:
A free copy of ON1 PHOTO RAW!

First, Second and Third Place Winners will also receive:
Three free paid copies each of Retouch4Me’s wonderful photo retouching plugins!

Winners will be Showcased in The Motif Collective Artists Showcase Winners Gallery
and receive Focused Social Media Publicity.
