The competition features categories for those 18 and over, with themes including “Insect behaviour,” “Insect portraits,” and “Insects in their environment.” There’s also a category specifically for Under 18s, and a Smartphone category open to both age groups.
Entrants can submit up to three photographs, which must feature an insect (or group of insects) naturally occurring in the photographed situation. The subject can be at any life stage—from egg, nymph, larva, or pupa to adult—and can be an insect from anywhere in the world.
Please note that photographs of other invertebrates, such as spiders, woodlice, or snails, are not eligible unless they are part of a composition where insects are the primary focus.
